UPDATE!!!

It’s Official!!! We closed on Friday, April 28th 2006!

View from my balcony

Well, I guess now is as good a time as any to share with everyone that I have started the process of buying my first new home. Knowing that moving back to Fort Worth was going to be a long term move I first wanted to get into an apartment while I searched. I’m not going to talk much about the apt because we all know what apts are like (and they are all pretty much the same). But what I will show you is my view. Everyone asked me how I would adjust from the small town of Amarillo to the Big City life of Fort Worth/Dallas…no adjustment needed (they don’t call this Cowtown for nothing!).

So anyway, back to the story…so now that I have looked at say 20-30 houses over the last month and a half I think know I found the one I want. I really shouldn’t be saying “I” since a very special person helped me through this entire process. We looked and looked until we found this one, and we told ourselves that all the rest HAD to just blow us away in order to change our minds about making the offer on this house. Below are some photos that were linked off the MLS listing. I didn’t take these, but they will give you a better idea than me just giving you stats:

Front View Green Restroom - Not the master!!! Dining Area with Bay Windows
Kitchen Master Bathroom with Garden Tub!!! Living Area - Hardwood Floors! Nice eh!!!

Once we close on the house (hopefully by the ed of this month) we will go in and give it a good cleaning. After that we’ll take some real nice before and after photos of the entire house. Enjoy for now, and I’ll keep everyone posted as more progresses.

Here is some info on the house:

  • 4 Bedroom
  • 2 Bath
  • 2 Car Garage
  • 1 Living
  • 1 Dining
  • Fireplace
  • Vaulted Ceilings
  • Tile and Hardwood Floors (see photos)
  • Alarm System
  • Many Many more things we will take pictures of and show you all.

I am so happy for you and Marla and the children! Go forth my son, you have nothing to lose but materialistic shit that in the end you can’t take with you when you die anyway! But, what you have to gain is love, companionship, friendship, as long as you are both honest, upfront, trusting, patient and forgiving of one anothers tresspasses. Love your pictures, now I know what your girls and boy look like!!! and house. God, I can’t wait to see you, it’s been over four years!!!, it sucks!!! Anyway, your blog has become more familiar now than just all techno, love it thank you! Mom

[…] I just wanted to keep everyone updated on the progress. We did close on Friday, April 28th, 2006 like my previous (updated) post said. We closed that day and stayed the night in our new home that night (on a queen sized air mattress). Even though the house was pretty much move-in ready we wanted to give it our own little touch before we moved all the way in…so we painted the kitchen: […]
