Insight Bowl - Texas Tech vs Minnesota

December 31st, 2006 by Terry Apodaca

I am not going to give a writeup here. There are plenty of places to read about the game like at Red Raider Sports, Raider Power and the Texas Tech Official Athletic Site.

Then you have the normal sites that all run about the same stories at:

And last, but not least is ESPN. I went there today actually and was stunned to see that they had a story titled, “Sources: Minnesota fires Mason“. Though our record isn’t something to tout…theirs was a mere 6-6, having to win their last three regular season games just to become bowl eligible. Nice recovery…but I don’t know that it was time to cut the guys throat. Mason just signed a contract extension last New Years Eve for $1.65 million a year. Oh well, news not worthy of overshadowing Tech huge win in a bowl game that they needed, the fans needed, the entire program needed. Wow, just wow.

ESPN’s Insight Bowl

But the main reason for my post is to inform anyone and everyone that they can watch this historic game again at the NFL Network website. They are providing the entire game online FOR FREE and want to spread the word. Here the link to the actual story with links to the game segments: Texas Tech’s offense proves game’s never over.

I’m watching it, you should be too…at least starting at the end of the 2nd quater when it started to get good.

Here are a few images I hope RRS doesn’t get mad at me for posting. They are just teasers and you have to go there to see the rest.

Well, Coach Knight didn’t get his record last night, losing to UNLV 74-66. He’ll have another chance on New Years Day though…to get # 880. No other news for the round ballers right now.

Insight Bowl in Tempe, AZ!!! Today is the day folks. Time to strap it on one more (last) time for the season.

NFL Network will be showing the game tonight at 7:05 PM Central time with Derrin Horton, Dick Vermiel and Alex Flanagan calling the game. Follow the action here: Bowl Central
