With my previous post about Photo Sharing Services on the web, I thought I would list a few things I use at home on my personal computers. This can also be a reference for others that always ask me about such (free) things…Randy and MOM!!! Also note that the ones I list first for each category is most likely the one I am currently using or the one that I prefer most.

I’ve added Aptana to the text editors and Paint.NET to the Raster Graphics section…both are really good alternatives to the ones listed above them

there’s one that needs to be added here…and it goes in the Antivirus section (Malware). These can go undetected so you can really think of these as being in 3 or 4 categories.

Anyway, this one will be added to the list above because it caught a couple Trojans that AVG didn’t.
